TIP OF THE WEEK
With the new year approaching, I thought we would end off 2014 with a helpful tip on what to buy this week and what to do to prepare for 2015.
This week is a great time to buy any CHRISTMAS items you want for next year. Also if you use a lot of can vegetables or certain soups, stock up NOW. Can goods always are cheaper around Thanksgiving and Christmas and many deals will end Tuesday for this if not already starting to end.
Another big thing to think about is what you want to improve upon in 2015. I found on pinterest another bloggers finance binder she had used in 2014 and tweaked to make it better for 2015 so I plan on using that. I also printed out another stockpile inventory sheet I found and used in 2014 for 2015. I only wrote the items down I use the most. This will help me prepare when I go shopping and find a good deal. Don't buy it if your already reached your goal. Save some for others.
All these great items can be found on my pinterest page located here:
http://www.pinterest.com/lilpunkprincess/
Just check the finance board and the stockroom board.
I hope this final tip for 2014 helps you guys get ready for 2015.
As always,
Happy Couponing

My 25 days of Christmas deals
Today I thought I would share some things I have scored with points and things this holiday season. Hopefully some of these things you have been working on throughout the year and can score them as well.
I do the mycokerewards program so I scored the free 12 pack of coke for only 30 pts. This is a gift for my dad's little goodie set up because he is the one who does a lot of the coke products and will love this little treat. Also I spent 5 pts and got a $20 giftcard for FTD.com. Since I always buy my grandma flowers every year this will be a unique surprise for them to actually be delivered and they are so beautiful. Plus they even have a really beautifully setup for under $20 if I want to go that route and can score them for completely FREE.
I also joined the disney movie rewards program since the 25 day countdown has started. Since I linked up my google account I even got wreck it ralph for free. So a little early present for me since that movie is very cute.
Also with the kellogg's family rewards I have been doing I can either get some new stuff for stocking stuffers or even a gift card for $10 off from the discovery toys. I personally haven't decided which route I want to take so I haven't used my pts on here yet.
Also with the Walmart Savings catcher I plan on using those amounts to help lower the price on gifts.
Also cash in ibotta accounts, and checkout 51 accounts for some extra cash.
These are just some of the ways I have been saving this holiday season so far. I will try and share any other things I have missed.

Free points, yep you read it correctly
Guess who is giving away free points? Disney movie rewards. I saw this and finally decided to join myself and after joining my google account with it I even scored a free movie. Follow them on pinterest for the daily code to enter. Free points are really awesome, plus if you are already a member this might help you with your Christmas list.
Sorry I have been behind
I am so sorry everyone things have fallen so behind. Between family, Thanksgiving and school I have fallen behind on here and my own couponing. I am going to try and get everything back in order fast and get you some good deals up and posted.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and got to hit up several of the hot Black Friday deals and cyber Monday deals.

Early Christmas ideas
If your anything like me you have either been already Christmas shopping or plan to start soon. Last year I did all my shopping on one website for a little under $100 and got free shipping. I shopped for all the adults and children through this amazing website LTD Commodities. I plan on doing a lot of the same things this year.
Also take advantage of places that do layaway plans. The places that are doing that this year are:
walmart
kmart
toysrus
sears
Make sure when choosing layaway you are aware of when the last day to put things on layaway are, when to pick up and what is all included in that particular plan. They vary from store to store.
Also check out clearance and stack with coupons when available. Around this time of year you can get great deals at target, walmart, and toysrus for board games and other toys as well. I will try and post them when I see them.

dollar tree
As I ran in and out of our dollar tree today I realized we are finally getting some name brands.
Ours currently carries the following brands:
Franks hot sauce
Libby's vegetables
Purex detergent
Tide simply clean and fresh detergent 10 oz. bottles
Wishbone salad dressing
Snyder's pretzels
Chex mix
Bugles
Old el paso producs
Hefty zip lock bags
texas pete hot sauce
Goya products
progresso soup
campbells soup
hunt's pasta sauce
Sizes may vary because I was in a hurry and just noticed things as I grabbed what I ran in for, however seeing popular brands finally making it to our store means we might be scoring more free items or super cheap items. Either way it is always a plus for me.

Foodlion coupons
Guys I just wanted to let you all know to make sure your foodlion account is up to date if you haven't already. Till sometime in October they are sending coupons in the mail and catalinas are printing out for Free and BOGO coupons as well. We saved nearly $60 in the coupons we used the other day and some of those coupons included: Free toaster Strudels, Free icecream, Free Eggs, BOGO store brand cheese, Free Salad, FREE Pillsbury cinnaomon rolls, and then we had many other great coupons to use. $1/1 pack of porckchops, $.50 off gwaltney bologna, and several others. Make sure to take advantage of the coupons they are releasing. We came out with several items for our home including dinners, lunch, breakfast and junkfood for a little over $40.

Tip of the week about your own personal couponing
This tip of the week is for a lot of my newbies. I have recently noticed while attending coupon groups and things that many newbies want to compare themselves to others. You CAN'T do that!!! If you do you're going to give up on yourself or go about it all the wrong way and buy things you don't need or spend too much money or something. You need to look at it like I did when I started out. As long as you're saving some money it is better than not saving at all. Now with that being said, don't go out and make a list of things you truly just have coupons for because that isn't going to help if your family don't need them but make use of the ones you have. What items do your family use that you can switch brands or cut out? Personally I can't use many laundry soaps since my boyfriend breaks out so we miss out on a lot of the good deals on Arm and Hammer, and anything with OXI in it. So I stock up on the other brands when I can. I don't spend anymore than $2 a bottle. Also we have cut out a lot of junk food. He eats a lot of the protein snack bars because I score them for free or super cheap.
Just remember that the main thing is don't compare your savings to others or your stockpiles. Mine looks like crap as you can see from the pics posted the other day but that is because I haven't really been couponing and stocking up in a while. I just go and get the bare minimums when I go out. So we have used a majority of those items and now it is time to stock up again.
Just remember no comparing. Compare with yourself, set goals. Printing off that list previously mentioned in another post will help you have a goal for each item in the stockpile. Set a limit of money you want to put toward your stockpile each week. Try and score the best deals. Remember also that sometimes just because you have a coupon doesn't mean it is a good deal. You sometimes can find a better one without a coupon if it is an item you can switch brands. Keep all this in mind when couponing.
As always,
HAPPY COUPONING.

small walmart run
As we were running some errands yesterday I ran into Walmart to use 2 of my coupons that expired today for $3/1 Bic shaving product.
I got 2 items and a soda and only paid $3.08 out of pocket.
I got the Bic comfort 3 for $0.18 and the Bic simply Soleil for $0.63
You can't beat that for razors.
Make sure you didn't let these good coupons go to waste. You also had a chance of just getting money makers with these coupons which I have done in the past but I prefer to use 3 blades versus 2 and so does Mike.

Harris Teeter update to policy
As many people know Harris Teeter uses a program sponsered by google and since it is no longer going to able to be used, Harris Teeter has officially removed it from it's policy today. I do not know exactly when you will no longer be able to use those coupons on that card but I don't want you to go and get angry when they don't come off. This is YOUR HEADS UP. It has been removed and here you can find the updated coupon policy
Harris Teeter Coupon Policy
Please don't go and say it is because Kroger bought them out and blow up their facebook. Many locations that used the program sponsored through Google have had to come up with other solutions. We just have to wait and see what Harris Teeter has in store for us.
And if you don't believe this to be true here is the link if you go to zavers by google and what it says.
Zavers by Google
Again I have not heard of the official time they will completely stop working just don't expect them to, if they do that is awesome, but if not don't freak out!!! Just be glad you got to enjoy the program while you could and be thankful for the many free items we got.

clothes shopping
Since school is starting back and since even I need clothes for the little bit I will be on campus I figured I would do some research on some of the best websites with deals on them right now. Jcpenny has a good amount of clearance including stuff for the fall and winter. I can buy myself a puffer coat for under $15 original price is $35. So here is a list to checkout online for clothes for you and the kiddos. At sears I can get a pair of pants for under $15 normally priced at $38 and many of these stores have discount codes. Plus you can shop through ebates to earn cash back. Old navy has a great deal on pants for the kids.
- children's place
- jcpenny
- sears
- old navy
- target
- aeropostale
Those are a few that I ran across. You can also shop in stores of course but look online first and see if you can find a coupon to print or something for that store to get a better deal.

Mike's first SD trip with me
For this SD trip it was special for me because my boyfriend has never attended a SD run with me. He likes that I coupon but doesn't like to go with me even on small runs so Harris Teeter has always been his enemy. He did great and stayed with me through the whole store till it came checkout time then he went to the car and waited. So with that in mind, here is how we did.
OOP: $10.27
Savings: 59.48
I did notice one coupon didn't double but I can deal with that. I didn't get any rain checks like I wanted since Mike already went to the car and had already done so well. But I am proud of how we did. And of course he loved his free ice cream and already ate the whole box just last night. We never had tried the dole shakers and he already drank his and told me they were awful so I should give him mine. lol. His way of saying things are Great.
Overall this was a great trip and I hope he decides to go with me again in the future. I had never went on a weekend and was nervous they would be out of everything but the only thing I missed out on was the cereals I wanted and that is because they were really good deals.
Our haul included:
1 seattles best coffee
1 6-pack hawiian punch
1 welch's farmers pick
1 hi-c 10 pack
2 dole smoothies
2 i can't believe it's not butter
2 cans of ortega refried beans
2 recipe ready
2 balance bars
2 progresso soup starters
1 twix ice cream box
3 suddenly salad
1 house of autry cornbread mix
1 box of south beach diet bars
1 old spice 2 in 1
1 suave kids body wash
Thats under $.43 an item. Thats a great deal.
Hope you guys did just as well this Harris Teeter SD run. As always, Happy Couponing.

New APP
I was recently introduced to a new APP and I finally downloaded it last night and played around with it some. It is called Favado. With this app you compare prices in your favorite stores that you shop at with everyday prices and sales and it even lets you know if there is a coupon for it and where it is located. This is great for beginners. It really does all the work for you.
For me it already made life easy because I was trying to figure out where to use some of my really good coupons this week and I can't wait to hit the stores.
Walmart has a lot of my razors for cheap with my coupons and that is something I need to stock up on. Dawn is on sale at CVS and I have coupons that expire at the end of the month and Palmolive is cheap everyday at the walmart and dollar tree.

tip of the week for school
So i was thinking about school today and snacks because even as a college student you have so many days you have to attend. Your average number of days is 180. With that in mind, i want you to keep this in mind for juice boxes and snacks.
You need to figure out how many snacks each kid gets per day and drinks so you know how many you need in your stockpile.
For me i will attend 1 class on campus each week and i will need at least 1 snack and 1 drink for each of those nights. Then while i am doing the rest of my classes at home i will probably go through two snacks a day so i will stock up on enough for at least this semester.
So keep all this in mind with all these amazing deals going on right now.

Its never too early to start preparing for a baby
With a lot of my friends becoming mothers or already are mother's I feel this blog post is very important. It is never too early to start preparing. Babies are great and as much as anyone says I want to be financial stable before I have a child, lets face it, that is not always the case and even if you are...prices are crazy for baby stuff and your baby is going to need a lot. So here is a few good things to keep in mind.
Diapers are expensive!!!!! And if you want to stick to a certain brand you want to stock up at a good price. The bigger size you need, the less that come in the packages/boxes so many women go by the price of each individual diaper.
Amazon has a special account just for parents. You will get discounts on items and you can request that item to be automatically delivered every so often.
Here is some prices I compared:
Amazon:
Pamper's swaddlers size 1- 216 diapers/box
$43.00/ $.20 each
Walmart:
Pamper's swaddlers size 1- 168 diapers/box
$37.94/$.23 each
Walgreens:
Pamper's swaddlers size 1- 216 diapers/box
$47.99/$.22 each
Just in those few comparisons you can see the better deal is amazon. But is it that way as you get bigger sizes?
Amazon:
Pamper's swaddlers size 4- 144 diapers/box
$45.99/ $.32 each
Walmart:
Pamper's swaddlers size 4-116 diapers/box
$37.94/ $.33 each
Walgreens:
Pamper's swaddlers size 4-144 diapers/box
$47.99/ $.33 each
So there is kinda an idea. You want to know your everyday prices and know when it is a good deal. So for the size 1 if you can get it cheaper than $.20 each jump on it. If you can get it cheaper at size 4 for $.32 jump on it. Now this is just one brand and 2 sizes. But you see the point.
Remember babies do grow so don't stock up on a bunch of the same size but do a variety. Babies are going to need diapers for a while
I hope this helps and as always Happy Couponing :)

Tip of the week
When couponing we tend to get really into it and forget what matters and that is saving money. Couponing is not meant to be stressful and take away from other things, it is meant to help provide the extra support when your family needs it. Don't go crazy and clear shelves because it is a good deal. That deal is bound to come around again. This is my rule of thumb since I shop for 2 of us constantly but several people use my stockpile and I never want to turn them down I keep a certain amount of items at all times so I don't have to take all the freebies out there and clear shelves. When it comes to haircare which is a popular freebie I only have a total of 12 in the stockpile. That is one for each month. Once we run down to about 7 I start adding it back to my list. For things used more frequently then of course I don't let them run low. I have found a very good printable list off of pinterest that I have saved on my page there and here is the direct link. Print it, go through and see what you use the most often in your stockpile and make a list and keep it in the front of your binder. I wrote mine in pencil so I can change it when I take something away from the stockpile so I know when I am out what I need to try and get and what I don't. This will help save freebies for other couponers as well.
stockroom list
Hopefully that helps you guys out some.
As always Happy Couponing.
And like, share, and comment to let me know if you have any questions or want me to write about something in particular.
