Since my last post I have done several couponing trips and sorry I didn't get around to posting them. Things are getting more hectic as we get closer to the babies arrival however today I couldn't wait to discuss the Food lion event starting tomorrow. For those that have been with me for a while you probably remember a few years back when I had nothing but tomato sauce and lots of veggies and beans in my stockpile. Well the event has returned!!
I am going through and trying to figure out some good scenarios now to help you guys out. Now remember some items will be on sale each week during this promotion to help your oop be even lower. I plan on trying to do at least 2 transactions every time I go to food lion till the deal ends on October 6th. So we have almost a month to do as much as possible. And I know this will help me out a lot with the winter months and with the baby coming.
So far I have tomato sauce, yogurt, can veggies, frozen pizzas, and can tomatoes on my list for this week. These are on my list because they were already on my grocery list. Was the amount of each on my list, no, but stocking up comes in handy.

Updates and trips
So I haven't been couponing since my last post in January pretty much. This pregnancy has been interesting but since we are having contractions 5 weeks early and I can't do anything I have been back couponing the past 2 weeks.
Here are some deals I found.
Here are some deals I found.
That was from our trip to CVS on 8-8-15. Spent $25 and got back $2 ECB's.
Haul included 4 packs of diapers, 3 dawn, 2 all detergent packs, 2 right guard body wash.
Here is a Super Double Haul from 8-12-15. I went with my dad. Paid $22.43 for everything.
Not pictured was 2 more Dr. Peppers, 1 dial body wash and one more box of pasta. Dad's fee. lol.
Haul included: 3 refried beans, 6 cans of tomatoes, 2 old orchard juices, 2 lysol wipes, 2 dial body wash, 2 dial hand soap, 4- 2 liter dr. peppers, 1 soft scrub spray, 2 cans of chicken, 3 breakfast burritos, 1 craisins, 1 shaving cream, 2 energy bars, 4 boxes of barilla pasta, 2 betty crocker fruit snacks, and 1 fiber one snack cookies box.
Today's Cvs haul was great.
Haul was split into 3 transactions. Costed $16.18 and left with $3 ECBs.
Included: 1 hershey chocolate bar not pictured, 4 irish spring body wash, 2 herbal essence shampoo, 1 herbal essence conditioner, 1 2-litter coke, 2 colgate toothpaste, and 2 schick disposable razors. Very good haul considering it all went to the stock room except one toothpaste, we were officially OUT. I know it got serious for a few minutes.
Also we did a lowes foods run. Sorry no pic. But Price was $18.58 and included: 2-4 packs of angel soft toilet paper, 1 box of lance crackers, 2 lunchables, 2 sara lee snack cakes, 1 oscar mayer lunch meat, 1 land o'frost lunchmeat, 3 hunts snack packs, 2 french's worcestershire sauce, 2 mrs. cubbison's croutons.
We didn't have coupons for the worcestershire, I got the wrong lunchables and I still wanted them so they didn't have coupons and we didn't have one for the oscar mayer lunch meat. So I think it was a great haul.
We also got to get me a pair of yoga pants thanks to Mike's mom. She had a $10 off a $10 minimum $10 purchase for Khols that expired tomorrow. Went and found me a pair of yoga pants normally $26 on sale for $14.99 and after our coupon only paid $5.34.
It was a great week to do couponing.
Tomorrow we hope to do another run to Harris Teeter and who knows what else.
Happy Couponing everyone.

tip of the week -don't stress
Don't stress over couponing!
Last week I didn't post anything on the blog really and I want to apologize for that. For the people who read my blog who aren't on my personal facebook page or I talk to directly we found out the middle of last week we are officially expecting our first child. With that being said things got hectic last week and they might be a lot in the future. But I am gonna try and continue to write and post when I can.
This week I want to encourage you guys to still hit up the kellogg's promo deals. I will try and see what is on sale where and see what I can find for you here shortly but I have seen they are still occurring at some stores. And I am glad I personally hit it up last week because the baby wanted the kellogg's frosted flakes the other night and I just so happened to have bought a box last week for nearly nothing.
Hope this short tip finds you guys well and make sure to keep clipping and saving. You never know when a hot deal will be there and you may need a coupon.

Tip of the week
My tip of the week is not to rely on things always going smoothly when you use coupons. Yes, we always dream about it, but things can get hectic. Something may not print that is supposed to, a coupon may not work. You need to be patient with the cashiers and be aware that sometimes the machines are the ones at fault and sometimes the cashiers just don't know everything. Please consider this when you are out couponing. Thanks
First SD haul for 2015
For this amazing deal, we did it in 2 separate transactions.
I did 3 huggies diapers in my 1st transaction. You spend $30 and get a $10 Catalina back. The $30 is off of regular price deals, not the sales price. Now with that in mind.
I used (2) $2/1 coupons for Huggies Little Snugglers, Little Movers, or Overnites Diapers - 1-11-15 SS
And (1) $1.50/1 coupon for package of Huggies Diapers
Total OOP: $17.42
Get back $10 Catalina.

4 Kens Salad dressing @B1g1 free used (2) $1/1 ceasar dressing and (2) $.75/1 Kens dressing
4 boxes of barilla wheat spagetti @ 4/$5 Used (2) $1/2 coupons for barilla wheat, plus, etc. coupons
1 Lipton tea @ $1.62 Used (1) Lipton tea for $.40/1 coupon
2 Minute maid 10 pack juice boxes @ $3.79 used (2) $1/1 coupons
3 Special K cereal bars and 1 nutragrain bar @ 4/$10. Got $4 off instantly and used (2) $1/2 printable coupons
1 Trop 50 juice @ $3.00 Used (1) $1/1 printable coupon for trop50 coupon (NLA)
1 Tabasco sauce @ $1.89 Used (1) $1/1 coupon
1 Finish gel tabs @ $2.59 used (1) $.55/1 printable coupon
2 Krusteaz @ $2.99 each Used (1) $1/2 krusteaz brand printable coupon
Also used the $10 Catalina coupon with this transaction.
Total OOP: $8.27
Also submitted $.25 for Ranch dressing (any brand) through ibotta and $.75 for tabasco brand any flavor through checkout 51 app.

Tip of the week from the spouses point of view
Sorry it is late, we had issues with our internet this weekend. Now with that being mentioned. This week I am going to share a tip from my boyfriends point of view since he wasn't always on board with my couponing. Maybe some of you can relate or have related to that yourself at sometime or another. His advice for the significant others is to encourage couponing especially for junkfood. But really be supportative. Even now sometimes he has to encourage me to keep couponing because it helps us get some of the stuff we want for our home.
Hope you enjoyed our tip of the week for you.
As always,
Happy couponing

Alright I have decided to try new things for 2015
For 2015 we are trying a budget binder in our home. I found one that another blogger put together and I fell in love with it.
Here is the link to that information and I am glad she shared it.
Just a girl and her blog budget binder
I also found a few other pages I am thinking of maybe adding to it that is on my pinterest under the finance board.
So far last night we have already spent grocery money, and had to add an extra expense called misc. We couldn't decide where to put the things we tend to buy when were out and about like soda's and stuff from the gas station.
Since my boyfriend works on the river he stops at the gas station everyday and purchases a few odds and ends on occasion. I didn't want to make it come from his play money but its not really grocery money either because if he would take those things from the house it would save money, so in order to see where our money is actual going we have to show everything. So that is an unneeded expense so hopefully we will see we spend too much and find ways to eliminate doing it altogether. Maybe I can start packing him a lunch each day like I did several years back if he lets me.
Another thing we are doing is putting away a certain amount of money each month toward our house. Our house is a fixer upper we moved into over 2 years ago. We love our home but never have the money put aside when my boyfriend has the time to do it. So not only are we putting the money aside each month, any extra money made goes to this account and we are dedicating at least 1 day out of every other weekend to the house. We ended 2014 with a bedroom half way done, a bathroom demoed (there is a toilet on my back porch and has been for a while) and a living room. So this weekend we are starting back on our home. Some supplies we have already bought and have leftovers from some of the other rooms.
Another thing we are trying is to actually plan meals ahead. I never did this last year or stuck to it should I say. I found a bunch of sheets to print off and help me with this from other bloggers and they are also on my pinterest page. It gets annoying when I want to make a meal and don't have the stuff here or I have stuff here and don't realize it makes a meal. So if I plan ahead that will minimize the going out and grabbing something needed that isn't on sale and spending a lot of money on it or eating out. Which is another thing we are trying to cut back on.
If your like us you probably eat out a few times a month, well that adds up. Why not just find something similar to that fast food that you want to make at home? For us we love smithfields chicken dinners, until I realized I can get the drumsticks and thighs for $.99lb at foodlion very often and I can always make my own sides to go with it. Now if we have to do something and stay out super late instead of purchasing 2 chicken platters I will purchase a chicken box and come home and make some quick veggie sides and there is dinner. Still not spending nearly as much as I would for 2 platters.
These are just the few ways we are trying to save more and budget better this year. Remember savings no matter how much is always helpful. Never feel like others can do it when you can't. You don't have to coupon to save money you can always do it just by cutting back on things you really don't need.
